Knott's Berry Farm's - Taste of Knott's
My two friends/coworkers and I had a foodie Sunday last week on August 23, 2020. Let me just say that it was one of the hottest days this summer….well since most of us has just been at home due to the pandemic. But it was the first time in awhile for us to go out for the whole day and it was HOT! But besides that, we had a great time just chatting and eating. It is so much more fun when the company that you are with are Foodies just like you.
We spent the day at Knott's Berry Farm for their Taste of Knott's. Where we walked around the park, going into different shops and just eating and drinking whatever that looked delicious.
I do have to put it out there that Knott's Berry Farm did a great job with the social distancing with the lines for the food, the seating and employees cleaning constantly. Also the great thing was everyone using their masks.
But let's get back to what this blog is about and that is about the food! For the Taste of Knott's, it is $30 for the taste card and with that you get 5 tastes. There are so many different foods and drinks to try, but it just depends on what you want. So my friends and I walked around first to take a look at everything first before we made our decisions of what we would like to taste. The suggestion that I would have to say is to have you and your friends order different things and share. So that way everyone in the group can taste everything.
We made our first stop and had the sliders there and it consisted of Mrs. Knott's Fried Chicken (boneless) in one and the other being a grilled Portobello Mushroom. Both sandwiches in a fluffy bun with arugula and garlic Aioli and chips on the side. When you go to Knott's Berry Farm, one of the main spots to go for some food is Mrs. Knott's Fried Chicken and they do have a restaurant in the front of the park. So when we saw that they had a slider with Mrs. Knott's Chicken, we had to try it. Both of the sliders were delicious and best of all they were not dry and the garlic aioli just made the taste even better.
Our second stop was the shrimp tacos with a side of chips. The best thing about these shrimp tacos was that they were very generous on the amount of shrimp that they had in the taco and the shrimps were not small at all. A plus was that the shrimps were fresh. The seasoning on the shrimp was a good amount of spice and the slaw that they added in the taco with the shrimp was very good and savory. It was definitely the right combination. I believe that this was the longest line that we waited in. But the wait was worth it for the shrimp tacos. We also ordered two drinks as well for the sunny and hot day. We had the boysenberry margarita and the boysenberry mint agua fresca. They were very refreshing and I like how they were not too sweet and we can't go to Knott's without having something with boysenberry in it.
The third stop was one that I was wanting try after doing some research through social media for Taste of Knott's and that is the Boysenberry Meatballs. I would have to say that this was my favorite out of all the others. You are given four good sized meatballs with green onion on top. The meatball itself was very tender and seasoned well and the sauce was sweet and savory. I honestly should have gone for seconds.
Last but not least was the funnel cake fries with powdered sugar and strawberry dipping sauce. Because you cannot go to a theme park and not have funnel cake. Also, dessert is a must regardless.
I would recommend coming here if you want to get out for the day. Especially if you are a foodie and want to spend a day trying different foods and drinks and $30 is not bad at all for what the event comes with.
